Please know that we have spent a considerable amount of time reviewing all of the provincial and national protocols for both public health guidelines and fitness recommendations to stay safe post Covid-19.  We have developed a plan that we are confident will ensure a safe and comfortable practice for everyone who attends our classes.  Be assured that we will continually be reviewing updates and recommendations from all levels of government, as the direction of this pandemic is ever-changing.  When changes and updates are necessary, we will be prompt in accommodating them, and we will ensure to share them in the studio and through our online network.


Coming to yoga now is going to look a little bit different... but that is because we're working so hard to ensure the health and wellness of everyone in our studio.  We have created and will implement the following guidelines, working to support our students as we all navigate these changes for the first time.

  • If you are experiencing any Covid-19 symptoms, regularly updated by NS Health, please stay home.  Should you be experiencing any symptoms in our space unexpectedly, please advise your instructor who will assist you in leaving the studio (even if this is during a class- please let us know).

  • If you have traveled outside of the Atlantic Bubble, or been in contact with someone who has, please avoid visiting our studio for 14 days.

  • Our studio doors will be locked until 15 minutes before class start, allowing us sufficient time for the distanced exit of a previous class and to fulfill our sanitation requirements.  Should you arrive at the studio earlier than this time, we encourage you to wait in your car.

  • We will maintain 6 feet of physical distancing. Mat areas will be marked off, ensuring each individual practice space meets or exceeds this distance in all directions. 

  • Class sizes will be limited to 8 people, which includes the instructor.  We hope you feel safe and comfortable with these smaller sized classes. These numbers are critical to maintaining distance when entering and exiting the building, and with smaller sizes, we can meet this requirement with ease.

  • We will be managing our entry point to ensure physical distancing is adhered to and to screen incoming students by asking them if they have symptoms or have been in contact with anyone who has.

  • Class schedules have been revised to allow greater time in between for thorough disinfecting. 

  • Hand sanitizer is available in our front room immediately after entering.

  • Payment, booking, and check-in will be run through our MINDBODY software to provide contactless transactions. If you require support with this, please email us at connect@beginningsyoga.com and we would be happy to walk you through the process.  

  • Our bolsters, blankets and mats will currently be unavailable for use. If you tend to get chilly, please remember to bring a warm sweater, as our blankets will not be used. You are welcome to bring your own props from home and are required to bring your own mat. 

  • Lounge area, complimentary coffee and tea bar will not be available at this time. Please arrive ready to practice.

  • Our fruit infused water will not be available (for now). Please come with a full water bottle to ensure you stay hydrated.

  • Should a staff member feel unwell, or show any symptoms, we will work to coordinate a substitute for the class, but may be required to cancel. Our priority will be on health protocol compliance and we appreciate your patience with any changes needing to be made.

  • Please keep personal items brought in to a minimum.  

  • Washrooms will be open and hand washing is encouraged. Disinfectant wipes will be available, and the room will be fully sanitized between each class.



This list looks long... we know.  Most of the changes are just work that we're doing on the back end to keep our students as safe and healthy as possible.  We wanted to share this plan, however, for your peace of mind that we're doing everything we can to keep you protected.  We will do our very best to make this as smooth and effortless for you as possible, and we are here to support you as we figure all of this out for the first time together.
